Ingredients of strawberry jam:
- 1 Kilo strawberry
- 5 Cup sugar
- 1 Table spoon lemon juice
Method (how to make strawberry jam at home):
- Cut the upper part of Strawberry, wash and drain.
- Place strawberries in a bowl alternatively with sugar to have several layers (last layer should be sugar).
- Cover with plastic cling and refrigerate for one day.
- Place strawberries with its juices and lemon juice in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Bring to boil then reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes. Place strawberries aside then heat syrup for 30 minutes.
- Add strawberries again to syrup, bring to boil for 10 minutes, remove from heat.
- Cool and pack, then seal with sterile jars and refrigerate.
how to test Strawberry jam:
- Place 1 teaspoon of jam in cold plate, then refrigerate for few minutes, if jelled then it`s cooked. If not, put over heat again till completely cooked.
